Colin is an athletic middle infielder with a bit above average actions and footwork, with an average to slightly above average arm. He's a solid playmaker and moves to the ball well, with balance and good timing.  During the BP session he featured a nice flat swing path, and a good takeaway, hitting 5 of 8 balls hard, he could use his legs better. His games wings resulted in several flyballs and one hard-hit ground ball base hit so there are some adjustments to make for a player whose offensive game has to revolve around line drive contact and spraying the ball around the field.  On the mound he's a competitive strike thrower who can move the ball around and mix pitches.  He's got an athletic delivery and a good approach, as many SS's do when they pitch.
