Declan is a 1B/RHP who showed solid, soft hands, and very capable footwork around the bag. His arm was solid and he threw strikes to the bags. During BP, Declan featured a solid flat swing, with quickness, but was spinning off ball too early. That theme carried over into his game at-bats as he chased some balls out of the zone, and was early to many pitches. By allowing the ball to get deep, and using that flat swing, Declan will be capable of driving the ball all over the ballpark. On the mound he featured a fastball that sat between 75 and 73 mph, and a curveball at 67 mph. I think there's more velocity in the tank from this big 6'4" frame, as he just needs to throw off the mound more and learn how to use the hill to create arm whip/momentum.
