Ryan is a physical 2017 1B/3B, he has an average to slightly above-average arm across the infield, it was accurate, and he showed soft hands fielding the ball.  Like most big men he could use more first step quickness. During BP, Ryan showed gap power, with a slight drop of his backside shoulder, which indicates lift in swing, that showed up in the game when he faced velocity, however, he did also square up a pitch and hit a booming home run.  A strong cage work-like approach of allowing the ball to get deep with a flat swing with hundreds/thousands of repetition this fall will produce great results come spring.
