Blake is a stocky but well-built 2018 3b/rhp, he showed a slightly above average arm from the infield during his defensive session, was catching ground balls slightly deep between his legs, he could use more out front technique with his hands. He is another big man that could use lots of work on his first step quickness. During BP, Blake had very little movement/load and did not use his legs much to swing the bat, there is power potential there, as he showed some gap power.  At times too much effort with upper body, what's causing timing issues also. During the game, Blake had a hard line drive to center field on a fastball middle away, and chased a few balls out of the zone for K's. The ability to hit is there, creating a kinetic link between the lower half and the upper half should be Blake's goal in the cage this fall. Once he learns how to create a swing with minimal effort i.e. lower half guiding the swing, his power will jump off the charts. On the mound Blake featured a fastball that range between 81 and 79 mph, he spun up a curve ball at 66 mph. He featured a tall set up, the delivery was a little stiff, as he was not incorporating his legs very well, similar to what he does at the plate. He attacked the zone, and demonstrated the ability to throw strikes with both of his pitches. More time spent on the mound and a throwing program to loosen up, the arm action will create more velocity in the future.
