Gianni looks like a catcher, strong physical body, he feature a nice low set up that gave both his pitcher and the umpire a great view. His pop times ranged between 2.11 to 2.39. The wide varience was due to his inconsistent movement through the box as he was catching the ball, at times he would stand up and lose momentum and others he stayed low and fired a lower time. There is definately better and sub 2.00 pop times around the corner once he figures out how to master the move to throw. At the plate, the ball came off his bat loud, with a solid positive load and good pass he shot balls to the gap. There is a big power potential there also once he learns to flatten his swing and back the ball up at contact, creating backspin and carry. Gianni, fit in well, with the group of young talented catchers this weekend.
