Home to 1st: 4.75

Pop times: 2.18/2.28

Travis young 2018 catcher with an average arm, solid footwork, and soft hands. During his practice session, Travis' pop times ranged between 2.18 and and 2.28 seconds. He did not move early enough as the ball was caught and then he moved.  If he engages his lower half earlier to throw he will improve his pop times dramatically. At the plate Travis had a small negative load, with a swing path that spun off the pitches at times.  As hitting coaches we preach palm up / palm down at contact, Travis was more palm to ss, palm to first base dugout on balls that he struck. His hands are quick, but the approach, and mechanics need to be worked on in the cages. With some slight mechanical adjustments Travis can and will hit.
