Hello and I hope this finds you well and no doubt looking forward to a fun and beneficial summer season. Lots to digest here.

BAWS Underclass has a schedule now and schedules are always tricky, especially after what was originally a spring season that we weren't sure was going to happen, let alone figuring out how the in-school education was going to evolve.

With a Friday-Sunday event, with players from all over Northern California, pegging a time that works for ALL the players just isn't possible. I've decided to start the event with two games on Friday and will hold the workouts and other evaluations on Saturday and Sunday. As such, that allows us to start later on Friday. Here is the link to the schedule and at that link there is also a link to the roster (alphabetical) that has team assignments.

Each of the rosters is nearly balanced in regard to how many position players there are, and also fairly balanced per position. Most of the pitchers in the event are also position players too, and I have spread out the pitching to have a near equal amount of pitchers on each team.

I know there could be/will be requests for moving a player to another team for a variety of reasons and when it won't disrupt the balance of the rosters, then I could possibly fill those requests. That being said, there isn't a guarantee that I will or will be able to.

BAWS Underclass Schedule

For the handful of Pitcher Only players, I will list you to throw in a certain game(s) (will also list each player scheduled to pitch in each game, on that schedule link) so you know if you should attend a game or not. Obviously if you aren't scheduled to pitch in a game, you can still attend and be with friends and peers.

Also, here is a link to the venue website, Islanders Field. I have talked to the administrator and fans/parents will be welcomed into the stadium, they will also have concessions available and they will run the gate entry fee. That is organized by the venue and nothing to do with BAWS, it's strictly part of renting that facility. Because they are selling concessions, as per pretty normal rules for venues like this, coolers won't be permitted. There are also many grass areas around the perimiter of the field so if you bring your lawn chairs or umbrellas, you can find comfort in those areas as well.

BAWS Underclass will be live streamed and when I have the appropriate info for you how to access tha, I will send another message and will also post info on one of the BAWS Underclass pages. I use an independent company so there will be a subscription or registration required to access the streaming. We will also have a social media person on staff and will be posting a lot of content to the BAWS Twitter and Instagram accounts, so make sure to give those a follow. @BayAreaWS on twitter and bayareaws on IG. I will also have a scout working to gather notes and write reports for each player, which will then be posted to their Prep Baseball Report profiles, where the videos and stats will also be housed. So if you haven't yet created your son's free PBR profile, please do so ASAP. I will also have content after the event, which will be written and publicized on the PBR California website.

I have a jersey top for each player. Players are to wear their own hat, HS or travel team hat is fine by me and can wear gray or white pants, doesn't matter to me.

When the event has concluded, each of the position players will have been to the plate an equitable amount of times and played in the field equitable to their peers on their teams, at their primary positions. Players will also play at secondary positions as needed at times to keep them on the field as much as possible. Again, after three games all the at-bats and playing time will work out, it always does... I've been doing this for nearly 20 years and it's the part of the event I pay the closest attention to.

I am sure there is something I've not included here and your questions will prompt me to send out more info as the event draws closer. For now I think this is enough reading for one day :-)
