Ben is a 5'8" 2018 catcher, who showed above average actions behind the plate, with his footwork and his quickness. He had soft hands and in games showed the ability to catch the ball and block the ball keeping it in front of him. His pop times ranged between 2.00 to 2.19, plenty quick enough for his age. At the plate, his BP session was solid, as he barreled up four of eight pitches he saw, he had a nice load and good separation of feet and hands. During the game, he barreled up three balls in 5 at-bats, two were hard-hit base hits.  Look for Ben to separate himself in the next year as he learns how to build muscle on his frame, the actions and the movement are there to make him a force behind plate.
