2022 GRADS - UNCOMMITTED

Stats not listed can be found w/in their PBR profile link. The notes, when referring to avg, plus, abv avg, middle of line-up hitter, etc, are relative to D1 baseball. Scroll down, they are organized by team.

East Bay Team (Royal Blue)

OF Luke Souza (5'11" 165, R/R), Acalanes HS
Young build, fluid actions, hand path at the plate is clean and delivers the barrel on-time with balance. Given strength gains in the coming years he should emerge further as an offensive player. Arm projects fairly (LF), can improve the run tool.

MIF A.J. Bianchina (5'8" 155, S/R), De La Salle HS
Hit-getting switch-hitter, showed ability to slash the ball to LF from LH side of plate, while staying in the middle from RH side w/some XBH ability. Energetic gritty style of play, capable of playing SS though raw arm/range project best for 2B.

2B/OF Kyle White (5'10" 165, L/R), Acalanes HS
Consistently shows LH hit talent that will keep colleges interested in him through recruiting process. Has feel for the bat, shows XBH pop gap to gap, plenty of bat speed w/sound mechanics. Defensive profile is a bit murky, LF/UTL feels right.

SS Jack Metcho (5'11" 155, R/R), Rodriguez HS
Among the top uncommitted SS in the region, the arm and glove skills are above average for the SS position, run tool is improving, just a bit more physical development and the bat talent/production will match the sound stroke and mechanics.

3B/OF Donovan Crook (5'11" 180, R/R), San Ramon Valley HS
Barreled the ball all weekend w/pop to and through the gaps. Stronger than his modest body type suggests, simple/clean mechanics, outstanding timing. UTL defense profile to one of the corners, arm can play near avg at multiple spots.

C Caovinh Nguyen (5'8" 185, R/R), Mission San Jose HS
Full weekend viewing of him showed a talented and well-rounded ballplayer at the catcher position. Athletic/agile behind plate w/soft strong hands, great energy. Pops/raw arm can improve just a tick. Highly competitive ABs, line-up contributor.

RHP Kolby Calia (6'2" 195), Deer Valley HS
Prototypical body for a college RHP, w/stuff that isn't quite prototypical. Lower-80s velo (w/high spin) should/will tick up and complement his slippery, big biting CB/SL. The high spin and late break give that pitch swing/miss action beyond HS.

3B/1B Jaylen Wise (5'11" 215, R/R), Deer Valley HS
Big body w/athletic actions suggesting that he's got a chance to develop impact bat talent. Has ability to drive the ball now, HR power will come. Defensively shows promise at 3B w/glove though range and raw arm project better at 1st base.
