Congratulations! You're going to a Showcase. We're there too. In fact, we've teamed with your event as their video partner and have been filming events nationwide since 2001. We film it all — skills, batting practice, running, pitching, game action, even pitcher/batter matchups from a centerfield-based camera. With professional video filming and editing, we make sure coaches and others see what you've got in the best way possible — including after the event is over. Every athlete at this showcase receives basic video coverage as part of their event experience. It's awesome and valuable on its own. But if you're serious about playing at the next level, there are several video options to take your recruiting game to the next level.

Welcome to the info page for BAWS 2025, the 22nd year for the flagship showcase for Bay Area/Northern California players! BAWS is the longest running showcase of its kind in Northern California (established 2004).
If interested in BAWS 2026, please complete the BAWS Nomination form
These college programs attended BAWS 2025 (I don't put out a sign-in sheet so this list simply represents those I spoke with or saw in attendance, so there likely were others): BYU, Cal, Cal State East Bay, Cal State Fullerton, Cal State Northridge, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Fordham U, Fresno State, George Fox U, Holy Cross, Lewis & Clark College, Modesto JC, Nevada, Pacific, Pepperdine, Point Loma Nazarene, Pomona-Pitzer, Puget Sound, Sacramento State, San Jose State, Santa Clara, St. Mary's, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC San Diego, USF, Washington State, Whitman College, Whitworth U, Willamette U. Additionally, many of the coaches who represented schools on this list are now at other colleges or will be soon (they change jobs a lot), so that increases the number of programs that BAWS players had exposure to.
Over the years we've seen 50 former BAWSr's reach the big leagues (Nick Yorke, Marcus Semien, Joc Pederson, Steven Kwan, Mitch Haniger, J.D. Davis, & Kris Bubic are a few you know of) and more than 1100 former BAWSr's have gone on to D1 baseball (roughly 48 per year average!) while hundreds more have played at other levels of four-year college baseball. Northern California has an awful lot of talent and we have been trusted as contributors on their journeys.
Additionally, some players at BAWS occasionally receive an invitation to the Area Code Games tryout, based on what I see and the communication I have with those in charge of inviting players to the ACG tryout(s).
ALL players receive (in addition to the exposure to many colleges in attendance, which is the most important aspect of BAWS):
* BAWS jersey/hat
* Showcase workout
* Game play (each team plays 3 games)
* Video
* Headshot for your BAWS profile link
* Data/Stats/Metrics recorded and posted to your BAWS profile link (throwing velocity, exit velocities, spin rates, etc.) - Rapsodo for pitchers
* BAWS Need to Know Info
BAWS 2024 Pitcher Velocities (Fastball max, 84+ mph)
BAWS 2024 Position Player Stats
Players (it will not be every single player) will be highlighted during the event on the various BAWS social media platforms, though the most important form of exposure is to all those college programs in attendance; Twitter @BayAreaWS @Blaine_Clemmens & at Instagram @bayareaws - PLEASE GIVE US A FOLLOW
PRIMARY PITCHER (aka PO)
- Will be scheduled for a two inning outing in one of their team's first two games and if you are feeling able to come back and pitch again on Sunday, you could throw a third inning.
* Note: We know that many pitchers are also contributing HS position players but the idea is to showcase the BEST of what you do. When you are invited and sign up as a Primary Pitcher, you will NOT be doing the defensive workout or taking BP or playing as a position player in the games, unless you have gained approval as a two-way player.
POSITION PLAYER
- 60 yard dash
- Batting practice session
- Defensive workout evaluation at ONE position (unless a second position is Ok'd by BAWS Director)
- Fair and equitable amount of defensive field time during game play, both at your primary position as well as other positions on the field as need be. Each player will end the event with nearly identical number plate appearances over the three games.
2-WAY PLAYER (position player & pitcher)
- All that a position player gets plus...
- Will be scheduled to pitch an inning in one of the three games, likely in game two or game three for your team. It also possible that you will pitch more than that if feeling able/willing.
NOTE: BAWS Director Blaine Clemmens needs to approve participation as a 2-way player
Cost (before applying any discounts): Pitcher $325, Position player $450, Two-Way Position/Pitcher $550
